Hello Family,
Due to a conflict with the rental management company, my favorite bookstore in Brooklyn, Adanne Bookshop, must relocate from its current DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) location to another spot elsewhere in Brooklyn. To do so, Darlene Okpo, the founder and owner of Adanne, has to raise $30,000 to cover the costs of upfront rent, renovation, furnishings, and equipment.
I am asking the community of Witness subscribers to please consider donating. Every little bit helps! If you cannot donate at this time, please share this newsletter with your family, friends, and social networks.
I know from firsthand experience that Adanne Bookshop is a very worthy cause. I love shopping there. In addition to a great selection of books, there is also an impeccably curated treasure trove of merchandise like James Baldwin sweatshirts, Toni Morrison tote bags, Ntozake Shange t-shirts, and more. Darlene also hosts book clubs, book readings, and author visits in her very welcoming space.
Bookstores are the intellectual and wisdom centers of any community, and I am asking you to please help us preserve this one for our generation and the generations to come.

Thank you in advance for your consideration, kindness, generosity, and sharing.
Blessings upon blessings,
Robert
